Reviews
Having moved nearby, I was looking for some Mexican food. I pulled into an empty parking lot at Whata Taco. That seemed off to me, but I went in and ordered. Playing it safe, I ordered two shrimp tacos, rice, and frijoles. The cook fulfilled the order immediately, as in had it on the counter for the cashier no sooner had I paid for it. I won't complain about the flavor. It was good. Still, I am shocked at how quickly the order was turned around. I didn't see some expected menu items like chips and salsa or chips and guacamole. Those are staples at Mexican restaurants. While my first experience was not a bad one, there is something I can't put my finger on that gives me pause about repeat visits.
Growing up we used to always eat here and the food was always amazing! Being back in town I decided to visit them again and they did not disappoint! The food was just as good as I remembered very flavorful! The service was very pleasant and quick! The ambiance is very homely, makes you feel welcomed!
By far the best, authentic Mexican restaurant in the area I would definitely recommend this place to anyone literally
I've driven by this place a lot but never stopped in. That changes after tonight's dinner. I was very impressed by everything. I ordered a junior steak burrito and a small chips and salsa. Pros: o Wonderful customer service. The gentleman taking orders was super kind and welcoming o The food was made very quickly o The steak was very good, not greasy (mine leaked but that's because of the sour cream that I added on) o The burrito was perfectly balanced with ingredients o I loved the salsa. Slight kick and not watery. I'd go back just for the salsa o Price. I read some reviews saying they were expensive. Compared to other places this restaurant is on par or even less and you get great quality food Cons: o The chips were a bit oversalted o The steak also tasted somewhat over salted but only slightly (this is all personal preference since I don't normally use a lot of salt) Conclusion: I will definitely be back. It's close to home and definitely worth the price. IMO, better than Chipotle and much easier on the wallet. I would definitely recommend this restaurant for a good burrito. Going to try something else next time just to enjoy what they have to offer. Additionally, I'd rather support a small business where the owners care rather than a corporation that hires kids that could care less. Thanks for a great meal Whata Taco! Keep up the great work!
